If you're seriously ill, and there is no suitable doctor, what would you do?

You'll try to read-up on your disease and treat yourself as best as you can. You have no other choice.

Sri Lanka is in the same situation.

Saying "it's not practical" is basically giving-up on your responsibilities as a citizen. You might as well just leave the country to die.
